By now you’ve probably heard and yes, it is true! MK and Ash are designing footwear for the Elizabeth and James brand. They’ve partnered with the mega-successful footwear company to produce a line of shoes that will hit stores in Spring of next year. The shoes will not be co-branded or sold under the Steve Madden or Steven brands, but will be solely Elizabeth and James. Some initial reports said the shoes would sell in Steve Madden stores but don’t be looking for them there; they’ll only be available at luxury boutiques and department stores along with the clothing and jewelry collections.

MK and Ashley are doing something innovative and unique with the footwear so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for more info (which means keeps checking this blog–wink, wink).

Hi everyone,

New York Fashion Week kicked off over the weekend and I couldn’t be more excited. Ashley and I have been very busy with the Elizabeth and James Spring collection: preparing for Coterie next week, styling the look book photo shoot (more on that later this week), finalizing the Spring jewelry collection and so much more. It’s been a whirlwind but we love it!

Saturday night I attended the Rock & Republic show and loved what I saw. Even though it was pouring rain and the show started 40 minutes late (not unusual for Fashion Week), it was definitely worth the wait. The whole collection is black and white–very chic and sexy–and the show was set to great music.

A lot of you have asked if there are two different versions of Influence since there are two different covers. The inside of the book will be the same, but the front cover is different. On the cover with Ashley’s image, Mary-Kate’s image is on the back cover, and vice versa. When on the shelf at bookstores, the two different covers will be facing each other so it’ll be as though MK and Ashley are looking at each other. Pretty cool, huh?

What do these two things have in common? Mary-Kate of course! The Wackness premiere is tonight in New York City and MK will be there. Be sure to check back tomorrow for photos from the event in the photo gallery.

Tomorrow night (Thursday, June 26) MK will be on The Late Show with David Letterman talking about the movie, Influence and so much more. Be sure to tune in or TiVo!

Hi everyone,

Always here to keep you updated, this Mystery Blogger wanted to share with you some exciting updates about Influence, Mary-Kate and Ashley’s coffee table book. First update: Influence will release October 28, 2008 in the U.S.! Most major bookstores will carry the tome, but Razorbill (the publisher) is also in talks with some other types of retailers to carry it. We’ll definitely keep you updated about where you can find the book as the release date gets closer.

Second update: MK and Ash hosted a cocktail reception last week here in L.A. with some of the top book sellers in the country like Amazon, Barnes and Noble and Borders, to name a few. Held poolside at the Sunset Tower Hotel, yours truly had the honor of attending and very much enjoyed hearing Ashley and MK share their thoughts on the book, as well as meeting the publishers, editors and sellers in attendance.

And now the most exciting update: I’ve seen Influence! I’ve only seen a few excerpts but it is AMAZING. Ash and MK have devoted the last year to this book and it really shows. It’s obvious they have genuine interest in their interview subjects who are people who have influenced them throughout the years. But I think the best part is their personal sections in which they share exclusive photos of their homes, family memories and prized possessions. It’s definitely a look at Ashley and Mary-Kate very few people have ever seen and everyone has been dying to see. They can’t wait to share it with all their fans!
